2021-2022 Texas Reading Initiative-Birth to Kinder

The听ultimate goal听of this grant is to improve kindergarten readiness by providing high-quality texts, streamlined resources, and comprehensive support to families of the youngest learners in Texas. Increasing access to high-quality books, supplemental learning resources, and evidence-based family education programs will promote home reading and expose children to high-quality, interactive learning experiences. Aligning the high-quality books and learning materials to the evidence-based family education programs will guide and empower families to better support their children's development of essential language and literacy skills. All sub-听

grantee applications will be required to include a needs assessment that illustrates how they will target families that feed into districts with low literacy and/or kindergarten readiness scores.
